Do you or your business have scrap metal that you’d like to get taken away?

There are a number of different options to ensure that you get best value for your scrap metal recycling. One of the most important things is to ensure you segregate the scrap metals and keep them clean from contamination. The last thing you want to do is have waste or rubbish mixed through your metals.  This would mean the waste needs to be sorted out in order to achieve the best possible return.

Our solution:

Whether it’s a one off or an on-going requirement, Buchanan’s can supply a range of enclosed skips. These are ideal for the removal of valuable waste streams such as scrap metals, copper etc.

Enclosed lockable skips are specially designed to provide a deterrent to prevent others from opening your skip. Why? To either put rubbish in or to steal your valuable scrap metals – it happens unfortunately! The handy doors on the skip can be used to safely secure the contents in our skip and should prevent most opportunistic trouble makers.

What’s it worth?

Over the years, Buchanan’s waste transfer station has received and processed a range of metals – one of the most valuable was a high grade material which was used in the aerospace industry and valued at over £10,000 per tonne!

For most common scrap metals however there are a range of good websites which help give an approximate range of values, such as Lets Recycle.

Our expertise:

As experts in the waste industry, our office generates a range of compliance documents such as Waste Transfer Notes, weighbridge tickets etc. to ensure that we keep your waste removal fully legally compliant. Bespoke software allows us to enter your SIC code, EWC code etc. to ensure that every ticket is pre-printed with the correct details for your skip.

Once full and returned to the Waste Transfer Station for recycling, the fully calibrated weighbridge and weighbridge software records all the relevant information. This information can then be emailed to you for your records.
