Approaching end of 2023…
Where has the time gone, this year isn’t over yet however it’s been a busy one for everyone at Buchanan’s. We’ve upgraded our fleet, we’ve had employee’s gain new qualifications and so much more…It’s been great so far.
As the end of the year approaches, we start preparing for our ISO Audit…
“An ISO audit is an audit of your organization’s compliance with one of the standards set forth by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO)”
To pass an audit, we need to ensure that all of our documents are up to date and everything is recorded accurately, throughout the whole year.
We do this by ensuring we follow all our policies and procedures and regularly update and review documents.
It’s important to keep informed and knowledgeable on every aspect of the business, this way we follow a “on the go” approach and we can fix any issues that arise first hand, ensuring we aren’t leaving anything left behind or forgotten.
We ensure all our equipment is calibrated such as our weighbridge, Avery Weigh Tronix checks and ensures our weighbridge is working correctly and accurately.
Our lifting equipment on trucks require LOLER certificates to ensure 100% safety when our drivers are delivering and uplifting skips.
We have repair and maintenance contracts in place for all our trucks to ensure they are road worthy and safe.
We have health and safety policies in place around the office and yard, ensuring all staff have access at any time.
Staff are trained numerous times a year – Transport manager leads a “Tool box talk” which refreshes certain topics.

It’s been a great year for our transport team, we’ve upgraded our fleet with brand new trucks.
